Millions of people, everywhere across the globe, are affected adversely by a sense of loneliness. It is a problem of pandemic proportions throughout the world today, causing misery, sickness and suicides on a massive scale. Can anything be done to cure loneliness? Are we simply victims of our condition—or do we possess the power to control our circumstances?

Maybe you are like many people who are fatalistic, thinking that genes, heredity, environment and social status cause personal circumstances; they believe that these are the reasons for their failures, struggles or disadvantages. On the other hand, observation of the history of the evolution of the human race shows that we—human beings—are responsible for what we are: what we have become, and what we can become in the future. Metaphysical scientists—those who search the mysteries of the laws of life and nature—reveal a world of creative power that human beings possess.

If so, where does this power reside? This creative force exists within our mind. Metaphysics tells us that the mind is the creative cause of our personal circumstances; that everything in our experience is ultimately the result of our own way of thinking. When we can connect with our hidden faculties—perception, ideas, creative imagination and intuition—we release tremendous energy to affect our circumstances: including getting, keeping and maintaining healthy and happy relationships. There is within our minds this powerful inner world that, properly understood and harnessed, enables us to achieve anything within the bounds of nature.

Loneliness, separation and isolation are merely ideas. The truth is that everything in the Universe is connected; nothing is ultimately separate or isolated. Science verifies that statement; it is a proven scientific fact.  The trouble is, when ideas—fact or fiction, positive or negative—are believed to be true, they gradually become facts. The energies, that everywhere surround and permeate us, do not question the ideas we hold in our mind; it takes the ideas we hold in our mind and materialises them into actuality.  Believing in loneliness, we become lonely. Believing in the idea of separation, we separate. Believing that we are unlovable we feel, and act, unloved.

You have probably heard this message before. You may even have seen the popular movie, or read the book called “The Secret”, which attempted to explain the universal Law of Attraction. You may have tried to change your thinking from negative thoughts and ideas, to those that you would like to manifest in your life; but you gave up because it didn’t appear to be working. Or maybe you dismissed the concept of negative circumstances and feelings being caused by our own negative thoughts and ideas. You dismissed the hypothesis as metaphysical nonsense. Perhaps you prefer to attribute loneliness to your past conditioning, your bad luck, your “lot in life.” Some people even prefer to define themselves with a medical or psychological diagnosis, attributing the blame to their “condition”, rather than to accept the assertion that all our life circumstances are a result of our past thinking, ideas and beliefs. The majority prefer to blame something, or somebody else, rather than to accept personal responsibility.

If so—by giving up, or simply not knowing how to change your negative thoughts and ideas into creative ideas—you have probably fallen back into old, destructive patterns. It is never too late to begin, or to begin again, to put this Universal Law into practice. There are tools you can use, steps you can take, to change the way you think about yourself and your life. You can change for the better by changing the way you think for the better. It is not impossible, even though it is not simple. It will require some effort at first. After all, you have possibly spent most of your life with negative thoughts and ideas about yourself; it will take some effort on your part—to literally open new pathways in the brain—to accept new ideas about yourself. But it can be achieved with a step-by-step approach: a system which, when followed properly, will transform the way you think—and as a result, your whole life.
