ICASA offers experiential and educational courses of training in becoming a certified professional ICASA Sexual Surrogate Partner, Mentor or Therapist. It is also an ideal complementary training for counsellors and therapists who wish to better understand Surrogate Partner Therapy.
The Centre for ICASA opened in the UK in 1994. The founders, David and Jane Brown, had returned to England after a number of years in a U.S. medical facility specialising in the treatment of male impotency and other related sexual dysfunctions.
David and Jane trained and managed a team of counsellors and studied and used the methods of Masters and Johnson treatment programmes. It was during this period that they explored the role of Surrogate Partner Therapy in treating sexual anxieties and dysfunctions and resolving intimacy problems and received relevant specialised training with the International Professional Surrogates Association (IPSA) in California.
In 1994 they established the Centre for ICASA in the UK and developed the ICASA Ten-Step Recovery Programme. After twenty years in therapeutic practice, the ICASA Recovery Programmes have now enabled hundreds of men and women to gain control of their sexual responses and to enjoy full, satisfying intimate and sexual relationships.
As therapist members of the International Professional Surrogates Association (IPSA), ICASA specialises in the treatment of psychogenic sexual and relationship problems by helping men and women discover sexual healing and confidence through its unique Ten Step Recovery Programme.
